My Rebecca’s BLT

THE LIST. COMING SOON TO YOUR LOCAL THEATRE.
THE LIST. COMING SOON TO YOUR LOCAL THEATRE.

It’s the early morning before Our Jennifer and myself jet into the big city to do our Friday hospital gig. We go so we can get our old bodies fixed up and they like us to come because we SO brighten their day. Nothing like a good caper to brighten the day.

But first I just spied My Rebecca’s list of movies to watch for our proposed Belly Laugh Theatre. She picked up the ball and is running with this one. So here is the list of funny movies that we, well mostly she worked up so far. With a movie night per week this list should carry us through half the winter. I’m laughing just looking at this list: Zoolander, Pink Panthers, Being There, The In-Laws, Blues Brothers, Waiting for Guffman, What About Bob?, Best In Show and City Slickers. Killer list, right? Do you have any candidates?

OK, time to get my day going. My current big project is to get my income taxes together for last year. This is my least favorite thing to do but trying to put a good spin on it. I’ll just turn up the Aretha for now.

OK, have a kick ass day, alperfect big picture wise, love, Felipe.

  1. Lest we forget Leslie Nielsen in Airplane, Naked Gun 2 1/2, 2001 – A Space Travesty. How about What’s up Doc? Does this mean we can invent Movie Tapas? Ta da……..

    1. Jennifer ~ good additions to the list, thank you. And movie tapas, yes, I think we can work that in. All we need now is an opening date. Felipe XO

  2. Amigo!
This is a big deal. Don’t limit yourself, OK? Go back a ways. Back to the time when all America had going for it to stay happy was a nickel night at the movies. Check out Joe E. Brown, Abbot and Costello, maybe even a No-Talky Charlie Chaplin. Some really good stuff there. They sure make me laugh.

Attended the State of Iowa’s official recognition day for POW’s at Camp Dodge, Johnston, Iowa, today. My “official function” was to escort Cathy’s 93 year old Dad, Howard. He can no longer drive and is bound to a wheelchair for most of his days. He was shot down over Magdeburg, Germany in early 1945. He was only one of two to escape his exploding B24 and broke his leg on landing. There were about a dozen of his compatriots there, and about an equal number of Korean and Viet Nam war vets. A humbling experience for this Marine to be in their presence. Talked about you to another fellow Marine Cancer Commando Survivor that I hadn’t seen in 43 years (shared our last duty station in 29 Palms, CA) and was totally surprised to see there. He wasn’t a POW, but having had the VA system help beat his Agent Orange connected cancer, he has been serving the VA system as a Commissioner. He wanted to “give back” at least something to the people he credits with saving his life. Ain’t that a grand story, mi Amigo!

    1. Thanks Juan for being there for those guys and their families. Take care and thanks for checking in. I just had a long nicely worded long reply all done and it “timed out”. Man, I have to go eat. See ya, Felipe.

  3. Ha! So funny. I saw the title of the blog My Rebecca’s BLT, right? I opened it up thinking I was going to see a photo of a nice juicy bacon, lettuce tomato sandwich! Anyway, can’t wait for the other BLT nights and hope you are well after the Friday Capers. (had a good SJA moment today I’ll tell you about sometime:)

    1. Dana ~ BLT, yup, it’s bubbling away on a back burner. We had a trial run the other night but I fell asleep. We need some more folks to keep the energy level up. So we will get started soon, don’t want to cut into our fishing time. Come walk Sunday and tell me your St James story. Love, Felipe.
