Birthday Party And Agricultural Report

Neighbors Charlie, Dana and Catherine on the Camino this frosty AM.
Pretty frosty!
Cris, here I can pick out rye, vetch and clover.

Yup, my seventieth birthday today.  Yikes!  Party preparations for tonight’s gathering are slowly starting to happen.  But what is really cool about this date today is that it looks like our new granddaughter will be arriving today also.  Yea, a double birthday!

We are flying out tomorrow night to be with all those guys in Massachusetts.  Hope I survive the red eye flight.  Then we will be back on the 30th so no walks in between there.

Argentine Cris emailed in yesterday that she wanted a pic of the cover crop on the corn field that she helped to plant back in the fall.  So, we have that for you Cris.  Also the new lavender plants that we planted look good.  This is our agricultural report.

Yesterday I looked back in the archives to see what I was doing on the blog back one, two and three years ago on December 21st and ran across the recording of Laura’s people in Barcelona.  Such a nice rendition of Don’t Worry, Be Happy, love hearing it again.

Maybe for the last time in the blog the I-5 highway is now open and traffic is flowing between Tacoma and Olympia after the big train wreck.  That is good news for Christmas.

Lunchtime, and off I go to get ready for the party.  Nice to be with you again, freely flowing traffic loves, Felipe.

  1. Happy Birthday!!!

Thank you for the picture of “my crop”… My first planted crop and it is in Vashon Island… and I succeeded!!!
Loved to see you all there too, in the other picture…!
And congratulations on the birth of granddaughter Cheyenne!!! I can imagine the happiness! May she be blessed in her arrival to this world!

    Talk to you soon!
    Birthday love,
    Cris

    1. Cris ~ yes, your crop! It is frosty in the pic but it is there and growing slowly in the cold. So that will go til spring when I will till it in. And next year’s corn will be better for it. We had a great party. And the baby came about half an hour before midnight there time to make it on my birthday. How cool is that? Oh, I just realized that I missed calling you yesterday, please forgive me. It was so crazy getting ready for the party. Maybe I can try again today. Yours, Felipe.x

  2. Enjoy all the birthday celebrations, Felipe! 70 starts a whole new decade, and now one year into it, it’s looking pretty good. Completed at least one life-long goal by riding across our beautiful US of A on my bicycle. That in turn planted some more dreams that are all in that 70s realm.

Hoping you get that grandbaby on your birthday. Cathy has TWO grandkids that help her celebrate her BD on Groundhogs Day. Another one only missed it by a week.

We talked about you this past weekend as we helped Ken and Tory Brust celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. It was all good!!

    Travel carefully, Amigo!

    1. PFJ ~ so glad that you are leading my way on this seventies thing. But I am here now. Hey and the baby was born half hour before their midnight, best birthday gift ever. PFF.
