Way back in the history of December I had proudly set up our Nativity scene in preparation for the holidays. I had the Holy Family the shepard’s, the sheep, the Kings and a camel or two. And what should happen but Henriette showed up and banished the Wise Men to the far reaches of our living room saying, “They are not there yet!” So yea, the three wise guys have been since wandering over Turntable Island and the Isthmus of Television and other foreign lands. But here we are at Epiphany and they should be showing up any minute at the Manger if things are going according to plan.
What is not in the plan is me coming down with something. I have cold symptoms creeping up on me. Just not feeling up to par here today. mI have a couple of things to get through yet. One is the Seattle Seahawks have an important game this afternoon. And of course Phil’s Camino has the Sunday walk. I think that I am cancelling the tapas today, that would be prudent.
OK, have to go do some self care.
Go Seahawks loves, Felipé.
Take good care of yer self, SALA
Jessika ~ yes, I am taking care. I am goofing off to beat all. Hope everything is going well there. Felipé.x
Now aren’t you glad you made Melchior, Casper, and Balthazar bide their time and travel through Island and Isthmus to get to the Christ Chid? You can’t just jump in on these things. It’s like the Camino. Getting there is what matters. Now we get to celebrate the Kings’ arrival, and open their gifts. (In Christian theology, the 12 days of Christmas is the span between Christmas Day, December 25th, and Epiphany, January 6th.) Seahawks won. Get well soon. Blessings.
Henriette ~ yes, the Seahawks did win, I see your logic. Sorry I had to cancel our meeting but I was feeling so badly. I am doing way better today, knock on wood. Later, Felipé.x
The Three Kings are a very big part of life in Spain, and Sunday night I joined what appeared to be most of the residents of the area in welcoming them and their entourage into the plaza. It was an amazing experience.
It included an opportunity for kids to share their gift requests, but there were lots of us older folks there as well.
Bottom line is that the Three Kings are alive and well over here and today, Monday, is yet another holiday allowing more time to consider the coming of the Christ child into this world. Oh, and maybe catch up on sleep.
Happy Epiphany!
Ronaldo ~ thank you for the report, directly from the Camino to us here. We could do more with that day here. Hello to Ann. Felipé.
