OK, Back From Seattle

Our angels are still here.

I was successful with getting in and out of town in a safe and timely manner. The Institute was geographically between two different protests, one on Capital Hill and one Downtown. Activities at the Institute were going to shut down at 3PM as opposed to the normal 5PM to get everyone on the road and out of there.

So, got back and had some dinner and a wine and participated in a Zoom with other cancer patients. This was something that Patti of the Survivorship Program was involved in and asked me to show up. After so many years of conferring with cancer patients it all seems pretty easy to just show up and just brighten the day.

Yup, the times are pretty crazy and hopefully we are bringing some new positive ways into being after is all said and done. It is amazing reading the latest from George Will and General Mattis this week. They are not the usual loud characters so I welcome their strong and measured words at this time.

Speaking of time, have to go and find my boots and get awalking.

awalking loves, Felipé.

  1. Looks very very damp where you are, somewhere in coastal Washington State I think?,so I doubt that many protestors would protest in the rain as it tends to put a dampner,no pun intended,on things!one the day I was diagnosed with mycosis fungoides I walked out of the hospital into a grey wet drizzle and you can imagine that I didn’t exactly find it uplifting but it looked like you had fine weather in Spain even though you where in the cooler damper north west.ive only ever been to Barcelona, Madrid airport and a scruffy town who’s name I can’t remember just over the border from Gibraltar.a shame that I didn’t walk into Spain when I was in Andorra but I walked into France instead over a 2200 m high mountain.got me thinking how many national borders I’ve crossed on foot reckon about 20?

    1. Kevan ~ Yea, we are near Seattle on the westside of the state or sometimes called the wet side. Some of our territory here is actually designated “temperate rain forest” as in northern jungle. We here are quite a bit drier but still buried in greenery. I had a terrific time in Spain and got rained on one day out of thirty. Thanks for being here with us. Felipé.

      1. Hello! Hope I am reaching Phil. I met you on the Cutaneous Lymphoma Q&A call. My sister Marianne connected me with you and I am truly grateful because we seem to speak the same language. I currently have Stage IV Laryngeal Cancer and our hearts connected when discussing neuropathy. As part of my treatment, I am walking my tiny “Camino “ every day. 4 months ago I could barely walk 1000 feet. Today I can make it about 3 miles with my wonderful companion named “SeaSea “ who is a 2 year old female Golden Retriever. Watching the video was so inspiring that words cannot express my gratitude. Unfortunately my neuropathy is relentless most of the time and is a result of what I call a Perfect Storm. My treatment consisted of 14 rounds of chemotherapy (cisplatin) which is notorious for neuropathy and a Phase I Clinical trial drug which was an ATR inhibitor along with 37 rounds of radiation to my head and neck. It is without a doubt that I am the beneficiary of a supernatural miracle. I thank my Higher Power whom I choose to call God for my many blessings everyday. I have a new goal in my life and that is to someday walk your Camino with you. Even though my voice is fairly soft And sometimes hard to understand, I know we can communicate. I look forward to corresponding with you, and by the Grace of God sharing our experience, strength and hope someday. All the best my friend-Jay Curran

        1. Jay ~ yes, this is Phil. And yes I remember you from the Zoom meeting. You are doing so great with your walking. And maybe sometime you could send a pic of Sea Sea. I personally love retrievers. I sent an email to you and you can return that if you wish. Keep in touch, Felipé.

          1. Thanks Phil. I will certainly send a picture or two of SeaSea. I didn’t seem to get your email but I’ve been known to misplace things. Thanks Phil 🙏
