Jennifers To The Rescue

FOR THE MAGIC!!!
FOR THE MAGIC!!!

A multitude of Jennifers are here with us. It seems like more but there are really only two but they are heavy hitters. One is here with me and one is with PFJuan in his network. So I received this work from PFJuan and from His Jennifer. I think she wrote it but I don’t know for sure. But whoever wrote it, well done, you left me in a puddle.

“The fine art of pilgrimage, warm manchego, honey, bread, and red wine, will sustain us through many days. Breaking bread with fellow pilgrims, drinking in views over the Pyrenees, with clinking cattle and sheep bells. Cafe con leche, toast and jam, red table in the sun next to the road, feels like an old Michener novel. End of day climb aching for rest, a gift… a bed at a monastery, next to an open window. A window with a cool night breeze, sleep will come with the hourly church bells, then wake to the crowing roosters. There will be sacrifice and pain and there will be, “WHY am I doing this?”, for the magic, Pilgrim, for the magic! And the pilgrimage continues, we are all just walking each other home. The Way… where the soul meets the road. – Jennifer xo”

“where the soul meets the road”, wow! I’d give my left arm to write stuff like that. Well, I’m sorry to put that piece up without permission but you guys know me well enough by now that nothing much is safe. If I like it and I think that you will like it then it’s on the blog.

“we are all just walking each other home”, how about that?!? I am just overcome with emotion. I haven’t felt this pierced since my reentry days. Our Jennifer and I were talking about this subject today although we used other words. Same day and I am getting hit with both Jennifers.

For the magic, love, Felipe.

  1. Gracias, Felipe, for your generously kind words. The line “where the soul meets the road” came to me as I reflected on my time with Farmer John and company in Iowa a couple weeks ago. For a first-timer on the RAGBRAI bike ride and first time to Iowa, I mentioned to my California buddies that you really get to know a place like Iowa and its people when you’re on a bike – where the rubber meets the road. Now as I look for ways to spiritually prepare to leave next week for a 4th Camino, I thought about wanting to really spiritually connect with The Way, thus, where the “soul meets the road.”

    Vaya con Dios, Felipe…

    1. Jennifer ~ you have produced fine wine my dear. Your words captured so much with so little. It is a pleasure to have you here with us on Caminoheads. We are a ragtag group but you will fit in here nicely. If you you have a little time please look into the archives from September 11th through the 22nd were I talked about the Pilgrim Beatitudes. Good prep for you. Consider sending in some of your material to post here as you walk the soulful trail. And Godspeed Jennifer, love, Felipe.

        1. JenniferXO ~ yes, if you get a rainy day somewhere read my reentry thoughts built around the Pilgrim Beatitudes from Sept 11 through the 22nd. Prayers for your safety and wellbeing. Alperfect, FelipeXO.

  2. So very beautiful, and yes, so potent. We walk each other home. May it always be so. Thank you for sharing this, Felipe. See you soon.

  3. Love this — where the soul meets the road. Wow. Yes, I, too, would love to have written that. I hope I can quote it <3
Felipe, don't forget that it is your one year 're-entry' anniversary. Your heart, mind, and body may be recollecting that. What a year! Sending mountains of love your way. Peace and blessings to you and your Jennifers – Annie

    1. Annie ~ where the soul meets the road, so elegant. Yes, one year has passed and I think that St James has finally got me where he wants me. He is quite the demanding character and it is hard to say no. Yes, peace and blessings for Jennifers north and south. Buen Camino my dear, love, Felipe.
