“Hi Phil,
Made it to Santiago today. An amazing experience! Your poles went every step of the way- thanks. Going to Finisterre on Friday. Blessings to you brother. Art”
Two more pilgrimages go done in history. That sounds so final and actually is not accurate. Their pilgrimage has just started as the Camino starts in Santiago as has been said. I can’t wait to talk to Art back here in Seattle.
Those are my walking sticks in the pic. The second time across Spain! That is so cool. It will be nice to touch them again.
Off to the hospital with my chemo buddy Jennifer. She bought a hammock so she can recover from her treatment fatigue on her lovely porch now that it is summer. We are going to take a half hour and get it rigged up before we blast off this morning.
Cloudy right now but I am predicting that it will clear soon. Praying for rain, seriously. Thinking about my little corns. Standing in front of the cathedral loves, Felipe.
Hola PFFelipe and Congrats to Pilgrim Art!
About this time next month, my sticks are walking to Santiago again as well. In the sorta capable hands of another former Marine and life-time amigo. He was an airdale, and we both know what that means in terms of “real” Marines. However, he is directly responsible for getting this hookup with you going, so I’ll cut him some slack. He and his lovely wife, Tory, are both turning 70 this year and thought the best way to celebrate it was to walk 70 miles of the Camino. Due to me “suggesting” he actually start in O’Cebrerio he’ll be doing a few more than that, but well worth it to begin in that lovely site. Tory is totally fluent in Spanish so it will be the proverbial “piece o’ cake” for them. They’ve been training very hard and I’m sure are going to relish the experience.
Always nice to get a note from Annie. Totally cool, that lady is 🙂 (There I used a full-on smile for her)
SF,

PFJuan ~ yes, friends coming and going, very exciting. Hello to the Airdales. We used to sneak over to the airbase for haircuts and cool sunglasses. Those guys are stylish. Stay cool, PFFelipe.
I love hearing you guys rip on each other about your Marine stuff! My nephew is on a deployment right now and is I’m sure ripping on other Marines in a similar way right now, ha ha! Love they liveliness you bring with you, PFJohn! Ultreia! 😀 Full smile right backatcha!
Been thinking of you both all day, not unlike days on the Camino when someone we’d walked with for awhile went on ahead of us or stayed behind, the heart doesn’t know about distance. Hope all is well.
“the heart doesn’t know about distance.” Nice Catherine. Felipe.
