Our cold spell is supposed to break today which is OK by me. We’ve killed most of the bugs and yellow jackets in the soil and woodpile so they won’t be too pushy this spring. The kids got a chance to run around on the ice on Bank Road Pond the last few days so that’s good and now it can warm up.
Here is some stuff in the news that you probably won’t find too many places. Pilgrim Farmer John from the great state of Iowa is starting a new blog which I think is going to be daily. He is riding across the US on his trusty bike with Farmer Cathy driving the RV close by. This is good as John being the guy that he is needs a high degree of supervision. So his blog is at: http://www.pilgrimfarmerjohn.blog/ or I guess I could put a hot link: Pilgrim Farmer John’s New Blog
Then Steve Watkins old time journalist and Camino blogger from the great state of Tennessee has a new blog which I might have mentioned before. His new writing features stories of memoriable people, one a day. He just had Annie O’Neil yesterday I think. Anyway he is off to a flying start and he would be good to follow: Steve Watkins’ New Blog
So there is some stuff to do on a winter afternoon. I’m going to run over to the new shop to work a few hours before the Seahawks game. Well, if you are local come walk at 3:30 tomorrow, Sunday. If you are far away, miss you. Maybe send a comment so we can keep in touch, love, Felipe.
Hola Amigo!
One day. One part of one day, even, and Kenny Brust has you believing I need supervision! That’s what friends are for, I guess. Anyway, thanks for the plug on my biking blog. Farmer Cathy and I are spending the day on our Embark Prep. STella the RV is standing by to receive victuals and necessarys. STella is quite a bit smaller than Elsie, the RV we had for the Lewis and Clark trek a dozen years ago, so it’s taking a bit more finesse to get everything in its place. I took care of the beer and the toolbox, so I feel I’ve made a substantial contribution :). We’ve got a family get together planned for tomorrow night at the home of Brenna and Marc, eldest daughter. We’ll go over the “Five Paragraph Order” for our expedition and hope that we have all the bases covered. On Monday, the Tax Man is first on the agenda, then a trip south to check in (out) with my Mom and Cathy’s Dad. And the last item on the list, the funeral of a beloved uncle. My Mom, oldest of her family, had four brothers and this is the last of them. She still has her “baby sister”, 18 years her junior, and that is a great comfort to all of us. We plan on crossing the Line of Departure on Tuesday morning, with the first overnight stop at Cathy’s auntie in St. Louis. Day two will be from St. Louis to Birmingham, then on to Florida and the first of our 5 stops to visit family and friends before the D-Day of The Southern Tier on Monday, 30 Jan, 2017. Stay tuned 🙂
SF,

PFJ ~ well it all sounds groovy duvvey. And don’t blame the supervision concern on Ken, I came up with that on my own. Looking forward to traveling with you guys via the blog. Gotta go, Seahawks football coming on, Felipe. Ps- love you man!
So many blogs! Spent some time with Annie and my daughter Taylor in LA today. Rain tomorrow in Monterey! Love you.
Hobbsie ~ I like your stream of consciousness day. Hope to meet Taylor one of these days. Looking forward to rain, l like it, could send you a bucketful from here. A bucketful of love, Felipe.
Hey, it’s the Great State of Arkansas. Not that Tennessee’s so bad. They did invent moonshine.
Steve ~ thanks for showing up at Caminoheads. I’m excited about your new blog. Looks like you are having fun with it. Sorry about the Tennessee label, got it straightened out now. Nothing wrong with Tennessee though. Stay in touch, Phil.
