I was off to the Institute yesterday for my three week visit. Two major things happened. But before that I got to see some of my old buddies there which is always a great check in. We have grown so close over all these years. We trade thoughts and inspiration.
So My Rebecca has been concerned about my headaches as of late and wanted me to ask Dr Gold about it. He ordered up a brain scan and I go in on Monday to get that done. We have to check out what’s happening in the brain bucket. Hopefully maybe nothing.
Related I do have a chiropractor appointment this afternoon to work on my neck and back. I have a sneaking suspicion that I have something out of place and that is giving me these headaches. So we are working the problem although I would rather be fishing.
Speaking of fishing the Hemingway documentary finished up last evening and we dutifully watched although it was hard to watch. I’m glad we made it through and I have new energy to read some more of his work.
I still want Ryck’s take on that doc as I am sure that he watched it.
And then while I was at Dr Gold’s he showed me the images from my last scan of my lungs and it is looking pretty wild in there. Things have progressed a lot further than I would have thought in other words the tumors have grown. And they are taking up a lot of space. It was a little depressing I have to admit. But we continue to hang on.
where is the sunshine loves, Felipé.
Phil, documentary was everything I hoped for. Left no stone unturned, for better, for worse. A heavily flawed man with a true gift for storytelling. EH’s life is much more interesting than the books, although you can actually understand his life through them. He is really talking about himself through each book. EH to me is like the Camino; “The gift that keeps giving”.
I’ll keep praying and I’ll add my yoga friend who mediates everyday we can start a prayer chain.
Is teaches sound vibration healing.
Valerie ~ thank you so much for your help and concern. We have a rough stretch in our trail these days. Felipé.x
Ryck ~ I found it fascinating although hard to watch at times. Such a rich and complicated individual. I’ve read For Whom the Bell Tolls three times now which is rich and complicated and hard to read at times. Where should I go next? Felipé.
“Hemingway’s Boat”
Ryck ~ that’s Pilar, one of the characters in For Whom the Bell Tolls. Felipé.
Phil I pray for you every day… and now with the lung image in mind. God sees you, loves you, has you. All of us, michelle
Michelle ~ I do appreciate your prayers and energy. Thank you. Felipé.x
Felipe, my prayers are with you. You and God have been walking together this whole time, best Camino buddies in the whole wide world. For now, I will put my faith right there; my hope too, and my love – may it go with you everywhere. Time for a walk and tapas.
Catherine ~ oh, thank you so much for your continuing prayers and support. The trail is rough here for a while now. Yes to walks and tapas. Felipé.x
Glad you are getting the brain checked out, and also seeing a chiropractor. Let’s figure out where those headaches are coming from. As we always say in my Irish Catholic family when we up the ante on prayers, “The prayer rug is out!”
Storming Heaven Love,
Henriette Anne
Dear Storming Heaven ~ Thank you for your constant support. The trail is rough here. Felipé.x
Adding my Prayers in with everyone else who is Praying.
A little Chiropractic and a brain scan will give you answers.
Journey On Loves.
William ~ thank you William for your prayers from the North. Hope that Spring is finally starting to creep up on you. Will you be able to make the Oasis if the border is open? Folks have been asking. Felipé.
Hello Phil.
I haven’t planned Life that far ahead.
Many questions unanswered at this point.
God willing.
I’m hoping YES will be the answer.
William ~ we are cheering for you to come. Do your best buddy. Felipé.
In addition to a prayer I see/feel/sense so many connections in your life. It is my hope that the hands of the Chiropractor were especially anointed and that the time on Monday yields a story for us also. We are sure thinking of you as you make this part of the journey.
Hugs from Astorga
Ronaldo ~ thanks for staying close. We will get this sorted out here. Felipé.
Hi Felipe:
I am sending up “many geese” as my wonderful Norwegian love in-laws used to say, in support of you and offering up much strength in the coming days!
I think of you almost daily and mention you to many of my friends! Did you know you were a kind of hobby? I can imagine you working around Raven Ranch doing those chores you love to do and what the spring weather has in store for you. Feel part of my soul is up there!
Kelly and I have been watching the EH documentary too! Yes, at times hard to watch! Seems many artists are haunted by demons. I thought Burns and Novak did an effective job of conveying who this very complicated individual was! True genius and madness seem to be common bed fellows! I have always admired two thing about EH, his great sense of adventure and his writing style. At the same time I detest his misogynistic and self indulgent behavior, even though it is easy to determine the origins of such! Sad and brilliant, flawed and beautiful! Awe, such is life filled with so many contradictions!
Are you watching “Crossing the Atlantic”? Hope to hear from you!
Loves to you and Rebecca!
“The Handler”
Carol ~ thank you for staying close my dear Handler. Yes, I need of many geese! You make me laugh when you say I am a hobby of yours, that’s funny. Yes, I am glad that I watched the EH documentary. I learned a lot. I am going to read another one of his books here soon when I can figure out which one. Hello to Kelly. Felipé.x
Hi Phil,
Praying for you! Praying for healing for your lungs and headaches and wherever you may need the touch of Jesus.
This is a late entry as I am getting caught up a bit on the past couple of weeks and appreciating each blog entry. Your words make me think and remember and contemplate–not just the Camino, but life.
Curt and I are so looking forward to meeting you and God willing we will be there April 25th with Corrie and Leigh to walk. It was a quick decision but will be such an adventure!
One more thing. . Curt and I watched the Hemingway series as well. There was brilliance and sadness there. I’ve read several of his books and along the Camino we tried to find Hemingway sites. Some of his family members live in Montana so there are connections there as well.
You know that I am praying for you and support you and Rebecca. SAL
Jessika ~ thank you. Should we mail your ballet shoes? Felipé.x
