A Sunday

Saint James is afoot.

Went to eight o’clock Mass with Catherine this morning.  Then we tailgated in the supermarket parking lot.  Nobody does that but us so people stop by just to check us out.      We have coffee and a doughnut and work on our tailgate theology.  Seems to be the perfect combination.

Read the Richard Rohr blog this morning also.  He has a daily message that focuses on experiential understanding of God’s mysteries as opposed to trying to grasp with the intellect only.  Great stuff and highly recommended.  I know we have talked about him before but he just blows me away every day and have to comment.

Also half way through My Heart Will Triumph by Mirjana Soldo.  It is the story of her experience as one of the visionaries at Medjugorje.  This is fascinating stuff.  I didn’t know anything about it before.  Loretta who visited here recently had just returned from there.  It felt like we were on the circuit, first Medjugorje and then  jet to Phil’s Camino for a few laps.

Well, dinner time here, have to go.  See you tomorrow morning, love, Felipe.

  1. Phil I love reading your blogs, your life adventure! I keep being in my own adventure but hope ours intersect enough to share God’s mercy in each of our lives. Meanwhile, keep sharing:).

    1. Michelle ~ Thanks for your vote of confidence. Not that I am looking to quit but looking for the focus of it after all this time. Has it shifted or is it still the same? Just questioning myself. Catherine and I got our salmon licenses this morning. Maybe that is the big news. Felipe.x

  2. I had a tough time with My Heart Will Triumph…couldn’t put it down! She has lived the Camino life since the early ’80s…meeting so many pilgrims from all over the world, patiently listening to their stories, telling her story over and over, giving away her rosary almost every day, walking almost everywhere, hosting people in her house, hiking the Hill of Apparitions, mass……sharing. Like all Caminoheads know…No shift here…same old big news: Love.

    1. O’Brien ~ hey, great to hear from you. Is your archery range set up yet. Are you loosing those arrows? Same old big news! She is pretty darn amazing. When you think of Bernadette in Lourdes and the three children in Fatima, none of them had an easy go of it. Rebecca and I coming down to San Dimas sometime soon. Phil.

      1. Phil,
I am so excited that you are coming to our town. It will be wonderful to see you and Rebecca again. I have not stopped thinking about you two since I left your beautiful island. I told my husband and family all about you guys and they are excited to have the chance of meeting you. I am going to get me the book, My Heart Will Triump. It sounds very interesting. Also, I love your “supermarket tailgating”… it made me laugh. It so awesome!! I hope you are feeling well after your visit to California. Take care and see you soon.

        1. Terri ~ yes, we will be jetting down to see you. Could be September or could be November, still in the planning stages. We can just continue the party where we left off. Felipe.x
