Rainy Morning in God’s Playpen

Bee Heaven!
Bee Heaven!

We really need this rain that is watering the corn and sunflowers as I write.  I’m semi soaked as I was trying to walk but retreated.   Wet and blogging reminds me of one evening on the Camino.  Gracie and I retreated to the albergue after the picnic in Viana that the Angels organized.  We were full of wine, bread, cheese and sardines.  The picnic was one of the high points for me, my vision of heaven.  But as we are subject to in this realm the sky opened up, it started to pour and we scattered.   Matthew from the Netherlands guided me back to our sleeping place.

But as luck would have it there was leftover wine and Gracie and I took up the duty of dealing with it.  Blogging, wet and silly in  Viana.   It’s heck being us, love, Felipe.

  1. buenos dias Felipe! your little vignette for today pretty much sums up my whole philosophy of the Camino. There is really no such thing as a bad day on the Way. admittedly, some days may have been a little better than others but they were all good days.I am pleased that your corn has received the needed rain. ours simply could not look any better. with the sunny forecast for this coming week I hope to be able to get our first hay crop mowed and baled. spell checker is a very handy thing but it includes very few farm related words. Cathy and I celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary yesterday. We really need to get you on facebook so that you can keep up with all of the daily things that keep Farmer John occupied. SF, PFJ

    1. PFJuan ~ Mary Margaret has also accused me of writing vinaigrettes in past posts. It’s time to ask for a raise when we start doing French stuff. Yea right, no bad days on the Camino. We had pain and discomfort but somehow that magically never translated to bad.

And congratulations to you and your bride for 46 years. That’s a lot of Christmases and birthdays and such. Your steadiness is inspiring.

As to FaceBook, maybe we could plug you in with My Rebecca and she could help me with it. I’ve got enough hobbies cooking these daze.

OK, off to town, later buddy, Felipe.

  2. Wine, cheese, bread AND sardines? Yeah, well, fine. Howe do you think thast makes ME feel?…. ;-]

      1. Steve-O ~ now you know that I always have a can of good sardines in the pantry waiting for your visit. Speaking of visits Jennifer and I will be at the hospital being silly on these new dates: June 10 and 24 after 1300. We need your input, Felipe.

  3. Blessed rain. I am so happy for your corn and all our crops. Thinking of you and Rebecca on this cool wet June 1st night. Catherine

    1. Catherine ~ just finished tapas with Chris and My Rebecca, flying high. Will you and Dana please get back over here soon. Hugs, Felipe.
