A Western Tananger

Western Tanager.
Western Tanager.

Yea, a male bird sat on our lilac bush just outside the kitchen table. These are very pretty and maybe more so because they are rare here. Always refreshing to look upon beauty. And a break from other things.

The best to you, talk with you soon, love, Felipe.

  1. Hola Amigo!

I’ll see your Western Tanager and raise you one. I was bike riding on the local rail-trail this week and spotted a Scarlet Tanager. Talk about your fancy birds! Those guys are practically iridescent! A rare sighting for us too. I day or two before that I saw an Indigo Bunting on the same trail, just as shiny, only blue. Such a treat to have that kind of natural beauty around us all the time. It just takes a little looking sometimes.

Have a great Sunday, I’ll pray for you and you pray for me. Deal?

    1. PFJ ~ Hey it’s a deal buddy. Tomorrow is the last day for Father Marc who has been here for seven years. I have really enjoyed him. He came and blessed the trail before we opened.

Yea, the birds are fun. So, great to see something different or rare. It was a pretty day here today.

Wow the sportscaster for the Mariners game that I am watching just used our word “swimmingly”. I like it. I like it. I like it.

OK, buddy time to root for our team. Talk to you soon. PFF.

  2. Hey, Phil (and PFJ), that same afternoon we saw a Western Tanager on a mountain just outside of Port Alberni, BC. At the same moment, we also saw a Willow Grouse with her fluffy little chicks. What a treat! We were on a hike and were thinking of you and your Camino, Phil. Until the next time, Buen camino!

    1. Gretchen and Lawrence ~ hi there. Thanks for the birdie update, coincedence? Off walking in a few moments. Miss you all here on the trail. Love, Felipe.
