It is typical springtime weather with sun and showers alternating. The trail is relatively dry. The cherry and pear trees are starting to bloom.

Amigo, Felipe!!
Just when you thought that yer ol’ Iowa Farmer Buddy, PFJ, had totally dropped off the visible radar, here he shows up, back in the “comments” section, where he loves to hang out on the Caminoheads Blog. It’s been a slow, laborious process getting back into the world of electronics and ethernet connections after the demise of my heretofore trusty HP laptop on the first day out on Route 66. I’ll spare the grisly details, but the long and short of it is that very little was salvageable on the hard drive of the ol’ HP. The worst of that was that I had, sillily now in retrospect, ALL my passwords and usernames and log-ins and other such things as makes a human computer-visible on that hard drive. Not WRITTEN DOWN on something as old-fashioned as a note pad or anything. And in their quest to keep us all “safe” from prying eyes, you only get a few stabs at getting signed back in before your “blocked” and can’t even try anymore. Multiple trips to the Big Box store where I purchased my NEW trusty HP trying to get everything set up and usable by an out of practice farmer. Fast forward to NOW and I’m back on your Faithful Reader list, with more than a month of Feiipe Musings to get caught up on. And MY oh My, you’ve been busy! Glad to hear that all’s well on the Island. The last couple of days have really felt like spring here, but just when we thought the tide had turned, we’ve been dealt a nasty sounding forecast for another “major snow event” on the 10th and 11th. Our Nebraska farmer neighbors are already on their knees, and this could be a heartbreaker for many of them. We an only hope it won’t be as bad as predicted (one to two FEET of new snow!).
Glad to be back on board! Take note of my new email address!!
SF,
PFJ
Geez John, that all sounds horrible, except for the Spring part. Good luck navigating all that jazz. I lost track of you, are you biking yet. Where are you? I just took a temperature reading in the corn field and it was 55 F. Getting there. Praying for Iowa and Nebraska folks. Hello to Farmer Cathy. Felipé.
