Waiting On Thursday

I hate to do any more whining but it looks like it will be Thursday before we here locally get some relief from the smoke. It is noticeably better today but tomorrow is supposed to be worse, so…

Would really like to pursue more along the line that White Eagle started us on but I am pre occupied with this mess on my trail. And we are sorry if this smoke is blowing your way world. We have a mess going on.

On the bright side I want to give you a pic of Scaleburgers. It is a tiny place! The ultimate Mom and Pop establishment. I have been stopping there since maybe 1990. I should buy stock! It is so quaint that they always have a guest book open.

Scaleburgers! They just closed so they lowered that green piece of plywood that protects customers from the weather. That plywood is 4×8 feet so that will give you a sense of scale.

I am off for now loves, Felipé.

  1. Yeah, well, I SORTA feel bad about your smoke situation, even from here where it’s been hovering in the 500AQI range for quite some time ( worst in the world, as it turns out), and fires swept through here and destroyed homes of about 6 people I know. But, the smoke everywhere IS something to be careful of, especially in the era of CV19. Got some relief today– down in the 300AQI range! The “Very Unhealthy” range feels much better than the “Hazardous” range, but it still is a problem. Good news is that it did drop to the 130 range at about 4000′ elevation, so Rasmus and I went up to Mt Ashland for a walk. Once there, we saw signs saying all of the Siskiyou Nat’l Forest is CLOSED to everything and everybody until December. But, across the Mt Ashland Ski Area Road is out of that Nat’l Forest boundary, so we went walking on an old logging road there and even got some ripe elderberries. It was truly great to get above the smoke and evacuation area. I’ll send a few pics to you. Rasmus was in 7th heaven, btw, and flushed a couple of grouse, too!

    1. Steve-O ~ SORTA! Yea, sorry, just whining here. Working on my Whining Merit Badge. Sounds like a great walk. Hang in there! Felipé.
