The Storm Is Rolling Over The Area

It is pretty mild here in the lowlands with mainly gusts of wind and rain coming down. Nice not to be up at higher elevation. Almost seems too easy down here.

We got all the canvas from the tent dried out and Wiley and I are off later this morning to the Sportsmen’s Club to use the large floor in their clubhouse to fold up things nice and tidy for storage for another year. That tent is 25 going on 30 years old and still is in pretty fair shape, a testament to good care.

And Catherine will be here in a few minutes to walk and say the rosary with me. I so value our friendship and all that entails. I think that we help each other “figure things out” as they say at Phil’s Camino. Speaking of which I had the trail closed for today because I thought that I may not be back from the mountains. But after today we will be open. It has been slow participation with the pandemic in full swing lately but we are in fact still operating. Blog readership has been down this months also I guess with the distraction of the election. Hopefully we can button that up shortly and get back to some semblance of regularity. Praying for that.

So hang tough, I know things are gittery and slip sliding around but we will get through this. And a reconfiguration of the Thanksgiving holiday in progress. Improvise, adapt and overcome, remember?

no slip sliding loves here, Felipé.

  1. Hi boss,

Lots of activities going on in the “lowlands”!!! I think you need a post on how to get so many things done in a day… my schedule is half busy as yours and I feel I don’t have a minute spare… !!!

I would be so right there with you joining in the trail if I could… patience calls until it may happen… As you wait for Catherine, I just finished my Sunday call with Fr. Ben in Scotland… I just love how the Camino has connected us all… and how this blog continues to link… As I reflect of that, I think how this virus spread… we are all so connected… that “the bubbles” we think we are in, end being immense…

Missing you & Wishing to be there Loves,
    Cris

    1. Cris ~ it is pretty amazing all the connections that we have created, found or fallen into since the Camino. It continues to bless us everyday. Fr Ben, did you know him from Argentina? Or maybe from the Camino. Maybe you mentioned it before but I forget.

Catherine and I really enjoy saying the rosary together on the trail. We have abandoned the beads and just follow the land. I said it a couple of times on the trip and just used my ten fingers and walked the trail in my mind. Also Catherine and I have been using a guide from Magnificat to read meditations for each decade. They are really super and they have art for each one also.

OK, got to go, I hear the dinner bell. Felipé.x

  2. Hope dinner was yummy! And hope Rebecca didn’t poison you for not noticing her lovely haircut! 👎

Fr Ben is a pilgrim too; he walked up to Leon and while we exchanged a few words here and there, we never talked until his last day in Leon where I helped him with a translation and I learned he was a priest from Scotland. We exchanged emails and our connection and deep friendship only started via emails months later when I returned. Since then, he has become an amazing friend to me… like you, I think he has chosen to remain “cool” by hanging out with me! He is in his 70ies too!

    Missing you all!
    Love your neighbor pilgrim Loves,

    1. Cris ~ I am trying to forget about the “not noticing” incident. It was doubly bad since I liked it on FB but not in person. Yike!

So you met the Padre on the Camino. No wonder you guys remain friends. Yea, you are right we choose to remain cool! Hehe. Felipé.x
