News

Jessika our Caminoheads liaison with the Order of Malta just got back from a trip to Ireland. She was here at the Ranch a day or two ago reporting on her travels. Here are some pics she took of St James Roman Catholic Church in Dublin the spot where Irish pilgrims have started their pilgrimage to Santiago since 1220. Amazing.

Yesterday Maryka and her family were here to show off their new baby girl, Noa Ives von Arx. What a cutie! Remember Maryka and her father Rick walked with me in 2014 from Samos to Santiago. They are in several shots in the film.

Then Steve-O rolled in, our CNWBC, with doggie friend Rasmus. They are here for a few days. Steve-O has news from Ashland, OR to Bellingham, WA which is the width of two states. While he is here I am going to find out the news while I get him to help with the new corn irrigation system. Everyone gets put to work around here.

Catherine is still on her trip with Dana down to Bishop, CA. They are visiting their daughter and taking a break from their duties here. This coming week sometime they will be back.

I got a Zoom this Monday with my radiation doc from the hospital. Seems I may need some additional treatment there. We are going to talk it over.

OK, Action Central around here.

coming and going loves, Felipé.

    1. Cris ~ we all miss you too. Yea, the corn is up and running. Grab a pile of napkins, we will be eating soon. Please let us know of van progress there for you and Argentina in general. Three months to go. Felipé.x

  2. Dublin to Santiago de Compostela would be quite a hike 2 ways;1/walk to Rosslare Harbour and ferry to Bilbao, Spain and walk.2/ferry to Holyhead,Wales walk to Plymouth, England and ferry to Stantander,Spain and walk again. That Rosslare Harbour to Bilbao ferry must have just started as I’d never noticed it before and may be vehicle only not accepting foot passengers sadly a lot of big ferries are going that way as the foot passengers gantries, etc all add to cost and cost more than the revenue foot passengers bring in.Due to coronavirus and people being scared to sit crowded in planes ferries are making a bit of a comeback for now and some exciting developments like the Plymouth or Portsmouth to Porto or Lisbon, Portugal ones being restored.Even talk of bringing back the Portsmouth to Tangiers, Morocco ferry.i doubt that it’ll last however as governments no matter what the country see rail, ferries and buses as a subsidy but airports, cars and roads as an investment.

    1. Kevan ~ thanks for the transportation update. There was a film not too long ago about a handful of guys that built a traditional boat and rowed from Ireland to Spain as part of their pilgrimage. I think that there was a film made anyway. But points out the adventures of old. Felipé.

    1. Kevan ~ I will have to find the name of that documentary. If you can find it let me know. Felipé.
