I Just Saw

William’s party on the job for us in Alberta, Canada.

I just saw a picture on FaceBook of pilgrims at a Camino reunion. Only one word comes to mind, radiant! Need I say more. Currently asking permission to use it here on Caminoheads. All for you guys!

And you need a report of my foray into Swedish Cancer Institute yesterday. That sounds like a university, I wonder if I can be a college graduate now, Mom would be so proud. Shoot, I’ve been going for eight years now, I ought be get something to hang on the wall, don’t you think? Anyway, I passed all my tests, turned in my forms and answered all my questions right. So I am still in the clinical trial! Yea! I really didn’t think that I was going to get through all the hoops this time. But viola!

So beside all that, I hope that these little pink pills are beating back the little growies in my lungs. That would be the important thing here. So have three weeks back here at the ranch before I have to show up at the Institute. The Institute, that sounds important. Be there for a full meal deal scan, tests and appointment. I am so lucky!

OK, so there is merit and benefit in celebrating small victories I have learned. So, this here is one of those. At tapas today raise a toast to Felipé’s ongoing contribution to medical research. That’s only half funny, I really mean that.

So, our family is all here how at the ranch. That’s why I’m locked in our bedroom where I can talk to you in peace. My Rebecca is having the time of her life playing with the kiddos.
We should take a family photo to let you know what this looks like. Yea, good idea.

OK, time to get the day going. Have to go peek at the corn. It is all tasseling now forming those precious ears of golden delight. All for your eating pleasure!

golden delight loves, Felipé.

  1. Congrats on staying with it…. my full day at hospital for chemo tomorrow. Beat down any cancer cells that stick heads up.

    We are on it!

    1. Karen ~ well, break a leg at your treatment! Hope that it is a rainy day so you do’t feel like you are missing something. Later, Felipe.x

  2. Hi Phil,
Found this in Everyday Camino with Annie this morning:
Our society does not prepare us for those times when we don’t get what we want immediately.
Taking time to release any ideas of how things “should” be, opening your heart to what is, and vowing simply to be here for God are as important as filling up your water container before starting to walk each day.
Then you will be free to open your heart wide, and live your life for a greater purpose. Be here for God, only God!
Here’s to small victories of the heart! ❤️
    Maureen

    1. Maureen ~ great sentiments! I’m into small victories these days myself. And thanks for reminding us of all that good stuff. Felipé.x

  3. Happy to hear your report, Felipe! My offer to do some trail work still stands. Tried to call and leave a message but you must’ve been out enjoying life with your family. I’m away the rest of this week. Thinking next Monday might be a good time.

    1. Charlie ~ OK, great. We will take you whenever we can get you Charlie. Have a good time while you are away. Felipé.

      1. I will be there at 8AM tomorrow to do the trail work while it is still cool out. My friend, Nick, who walked your camino once in the past, will also be there. Probably work til 10. Don’t feel obligated to help us. Enjoy your visitors!

        1. That’s TUESDAY, July 30 (I see that my post has already leaped forward to that day – time transport!).

          1. Charlie ~ not charging extra for time transport! Don’t look too closely at this blog, that is a lot of quirky stuff. Felipé.

  4. Nice going, Filipe. The clinical trials trail ( couldn’t resist) is a new path and it’s hard to see around upcoming corners. Very happy to hear you’re still on that trial trail – for your sake and the sake of all who may benefit from what will be learned as the trials progress.
And, yes, more time and availability to be at the Ranch – as soon as we get truly settled, unpacked and I can find my way home without a map…
Looking forward to seeing you and Rebecca soon!

    1. Steve-O ~ how’s the move in going? We thought about trying to come down for the open house and then thought that I didn’t need the stress of driving. It will have to wait. Yea, still doing my part for medical research. I feel pretty darn good being around the ranch and doing the chores. Still cleaning up from the winter snow storm believe it or not. Are you going to be able to come up for any of the Veranda next month? That is the question. Felipé.
