Camigos, My Scan Was Good.

Mary Margaret, me and Kelly, 2014 on the Camino. Nice pic Angela.

Yesterday’s scan showed minimal or no growth in my little old tumors.  They are basically hangin out.  So, treatment continues as usual.  This is a good thing!

And Mary Margaret came  with a new word, “camigos”.  Pretty nice.  We haven’t heard back from her whether she borrowed that or thought it up whole cloth.  But I ‘m excited either way.  Been a while since we had a new word.  So, I am presuming that this means a Camino friend, right?  What else could it be?  Or why would we want it to be something else, less or more.  Thanks MM.

Also, I got some help on the blogging from Cris from Buenos Aires.  She has produced some nice pieces.  I think I will start up the TGIF again and post one each week, that give me a break.  She is a real camigo or maybe camiga would be better.

It think that I will be out of here in another hour and a quarter.  This is when I start getting really antsy to go.  It is brightening up a little outside.  Maybe get back to the island to get some work done yet today.

Well, and Ash Wednesday on top of all that.  Will be at St. John Vianney’s for the 7 PM service.  OK, Lent is here.  Straight and narrow loves, Felipe.

  1. Dear Felipe:

That is marelous news. I am avoiding my academia work and browsing my email for more interesting things and this tops the list!! I am so happy for you. It is a gorgeous day here in Colorado too. Took the grand puppy for a long walk this AM. ( I am doing a little consulting work here, but mostly here to help Kari out while she is at lab school with her special needs students, hence why I am puppy sitting.)

Remember my friend Mary, who I am anxious for you to meet? She has a double mastectomy schedule for May 2nd, while reconstruction and lymph node transplant on one side it will be 10-12 hour operation. Pretty heavy stuff. I did give her a copy of PHil’s Camino, had a nice dinner and drinks with her last night. Say a special prayer for her as this time approaches. She will be at Houston MD Anderson. In pretty good hands.

How I wish I was up there to walk with you and see the spring coming on! Didn’t take too many pictures while out today or yesterday walking with the puppy. Also, taking her to obedience training for me mostly not her. And in between trying to prepare powerpoints, answer emails from research students, and conduct my research for this new course. I am dreaming of walking with you on the Camino to celebrate your good news. Wouldn’t that be awesome to walk the Camino another time, perhaps a different route.

Think about how that could happen sometime. Trying to send picture of the puppy and kitty but it won’t paste to here. I’ll have to figure something else out, maybe on facebook.

    Love to you and Rebecca,

    Handler

    1. Handler ~ So, so great, a new nickname/callsign. I’ll second it. So, hurking long comment. Where do I begin? Most importantly I will seriously and regularly pray for Mary your friend. I have other folks that I have noticed lately that are struggling and will work with them all. Thanks for bringing her forward. This is my Lenten journey for the next forty days. Thanks so much for the handling, Felipe.x. PS – yes, we will have to get a bake sale together to pay for our next Camino.

  2. Yes, I think St. James has plans for you ‘stateside’ as it were…
In any case, thank you for the update. You are always in my prayers, and I always know the truth of who you are: perfect, whole and complete, with vibrant good health and joy throughout your daily life.
I just had to check in. After all, it’s March 2nd!
    Love love love-
    Annie

    1. Annie ~ MARCH 2ND!! Wow, so it is. Just knee deep in hospital stuff and Ash Wednesday stuff. Thanks for the reminder. Love you, Felipe.

  3. So grateful the scan was good, so grateful for you in our lives. Missing you. Aloha love.

    1. Catherine y Dana ~ good scan = party for another three months, right? So did you guys run out of Coppertone yet? Missed you last night. The place was comfortably full, sat with Jessika, lots of the Mexican families there. Safe travels for you, Felipe.x
