A Dream, A Good One

Spacious and comfortable.

I feel so lucky when I get a good dream, like the god’s are smiling down on me that night. And a good dream can last a long time giving off it’s energy. In my own sophomoric understanding of dream symbolism I’ve always taking a building or structure or place to be a container that is me, the big me. In my past they were houses, schools, hallways or military bases. But it stands for the architecture of my whole being. Yea, that’s good.

So, in my dream I went to a party in a building that was given by the owner who was showing it off with the idea of renting or perhaps selling it. There were other people there at the party of course but I don’t quite remember them as maybe my mind was on the space itself. It was maybe three or four stories with beautiful stairways. It wasn’t vertical enough for an elevator. And the building was square in layout, without a lot of wings and dead ends. It was easy and enjoyable to get places vertically and horizontally.

It wasn’t a school or a hotel or a office building. It’s purpose looked like a conference center maybe. Small spaces and big spaces enough and everything comfortable and easy to get to. It looked like enough space for all my friends and associates to do what they do. So, that is all I know really, but that is enough. This form of architecture was my intent.

OK, have the Monday morning walk!

spacious and comfortable loves, Felipé.

  1. Phil, very interesting. Reminds me of a podcast I just listened to “Hidden Brain”. They actually talked about a building in Seattle with a beautiful wooden staircase around the outer parts of the building. They sort of hid the elevator and Mande the staircase the main attraction and for people to keep the habit of using the stairs. Anyways, the building is called the “Bullet Center”. Here is the podcast clip:

    1. Thank you Ryck. I just watched a 15 minute video which gave many details re this amazing building called the Bullitt Center.

    1. Henriette ~ yes, that’s right. I don’t know if it was absolutely square but everything was close to the center. There weren’t any warrens nor gangly wings. It was easily understandable. Felipé.x

  2. I love how it connects with what you are doing: building something simple, no fuss, straight lines, but not strict, and your thought?: “with enough space for my friends”

    1. Cris ~ yes, glad that you are seeing that. It was roomy enough but compact in the sense that nothing was too far from the center. It was of a certain era. Now a days we come into a building and we are faced with an elevator. This was before that and there is a grand stairway. It was clean and bright with pleasant colors. I was very pleased with it. Somehow I knew it was mine. Yes and room for all sorts of friends who could have their own spaces. And large rooms for meetings and parties, whatever. It all seemed like a good place for both diversity and unity. All that maybe happened in seconds, you know how dreams are. Felipé.x
