A Cherished Inhabitant

Felipé and Sherif from Cairo on the Camino, 2014.

Cris said in a comment that she felt like a cherished inhabitant of the Caminoheads Neighborhood. Isn’t that the greatest thing to say? That makes me feel so happy! And we need that especially this year. This year will somehow be visible in the layers of debris for some future archeologist to discover. She will ponder over the different quality of it and wonder what had occurred to cause such a disruption. But I digress. So happy that everyone shows up to take part in the neighborhood scene is the point!

Here is the third reading from the Advent calendar: Today, reflect: were do you feel as a big fish in a small pond? Where your confidence and self efficacy grow? Can you plan to do something to boost your confidence and self efficacy in you week?

Well, we always try and make you feel like a big fish in a small pond here In this neighborhood.

have to go walk loves, Felipé.

  1. Thank you, boss! Check is in the mail!!! hahaha!!!

I have to say this reading got me thinking… Tomorrow, it will make more sense, but yes, we seem to feel pretty good within our neighbors and neighborhoods, and one great thing that the Camino has given to all of us, is to expand the idea of neighborhood, and with it, feel as big fishes in small ponds, confident to go out to the encounter of the good in the other… not afraid of the outer world or whoever is different… And while originally, this prompt sounded to me a bit pretentious, it actually made me reflect that I do have those places where I walk confident and with a smile in my face, happy to be where I am!

Love to feel the neighbors love, Loves

  2. Love the photo of you and Sherif. That was the evening in Mansilla de las Mulas when we made a giant pasta and tomatoes dish shared by everyone, the last time we were together before going different ways. You and the film crew went on to Samos; Sherif, Kelly and I walked to Leon.

    It was alperfect!

    1. MM ~ so thankful for your laser like memory. I will follow your lead on that, sometimes it is just a blur for Felipé. So, that would mean that I was with Sherif on and off for all the time up to that point. Because I think I remember him in the Pyrenees. He was cold, didn’t bring enough warm clothing. Felipé.x
