In A Tangle

Caminoheads in OK! That’s Tori, Annie, Roni and Ken.

Thanks for being in our tangle.  What is that Felipe?  Well,  first just want to thank folks that sent in comments of support for me over the last few days and to folks who were thinking of me.  I’ve been a little shaky lately but on the mend with your help, thank you.  But you see we are in each other’s tangle. We respond to each other because we care about each other.  That’s what I mean.   You are willing to be open to my story, me, my tangle.  It’s not always pretty but you know that and are willing to put up with that.

And you are a tangle, not that I know everything about your personal story but if you are alive I am guessing that you are a tangle, an unfinished, incomplete, unpolished, slightly dented individual.  Me too, me too.  But we reach out to touch, that’s what is important.

A tangle I thought was a good analogy.  If you reach out to me you are likely to get some on you.  Hehe, that sounds funny.  And if I in turn reach out to you I am likely to do likewise.  But hey as long as we know the rules of the game what could go wrong?  Well, a lot of things can go wrong but we risk it none the less.

Does this ever remotely make sense?  I hope so.  That is all I have in my tank today.  I have to run off.  Bless you, love you, Felipe.

  1. There’s a name for that tangle “Indira’s Web” we are more “tangled” together than we know. When you tug just a little, we feel it and vice a versa. Reading your blog is kind of gentle tug; it’s like a little check in from our neighbor and friend and we wouldn’t feel right without it each day. Thanks for being there, everyday.

  2. Weren’t the days in the Camino like that? Both things: tangled and days when things were not fun… I mean, didn’t you tell any of your fellow pilgrims that you were done, that you wouldn’t be able to carry your backpack any longer, or take another step, or sleep another night with a snoring neighbor? or didn’t you hear the same from any other/others pilgrims around? And what was the answer they gave/you gave to them?… And why did you tell them those things or why did you pay attention to their questions and dare to answer? Because we are “tangled” 🙂
The Camino starts one you arrive to Santiago (or Finisterre), that is why there is the mark “0 km”, and that is meant for us to apply the same we learnt those days, “out here” in the world. All over “tangled” 🙂

You made me smile! And yes, it makes total sense!
    Hugs to you!

    1. Cris ~ we are tangled with chocolate syrup and a cherry on top. Hey we have to get our FaceTime deal going again. Only the best to you my tangly friend. Felipe.x

  3. Felipe!
What a perfect word-Tangle! I only know you because of Ken and Tory Brust, who sent me a copy of Northwest Catholic Magazine, because Tory is a Seattle girl. I get to meet you first and rave to K and T what a super Dude you are. I get to meet Annie because she made a super movie of super Dude Felipe and then brings said movie to my Iowa. Then K and T get to walk your Home Grown Camino with you on Vashon. And now they’re gracing the Forever Felipe Blog! Just how much more “tangle” can you get Amigo! I just love it!!
More tangled than a ten dollar fishing reel full of 20 lb test line! You’ve got that picture, don’t you?!

    1. Juan ~ man, you got it, I was thinking about the tangled fishing reel, those kind that were around when we were kids. It took about two years to get that technique down of the thumb pressure. Two years is like three lifetimes to an impatient up and coming angler. Yup, and that was great to see all those folks get together in OK. Felipe.
